ISO fuel filter with 5/16 flare fittings on both ends.
I am cleaning up some of the plumbing under the hood and am looking for a fuel filter that I can make hard lines for. I envision female 5/16" flared fittings on each end. This way I can use the materials I have on hand. Has anyone seen one? Part numbers? I want to stay away from plastic and am leary of glass filters. I just don't like the way it looks now.
I called Fram and asked and the guy on the phone said I am out of luck. OR is there a better way to run the fuel line from the pump to an Edelbrock carb? Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Re: ISO fuel filter with 5/16 flare fittings on both ends.
The only one I can think of has the O-ring fittings in 3/8. part number 541. (If I recall correctly) There is a tool that makes the end of the line into an o ring style

They use to make one. The same one I used on my ski boat with a Mercruiser Black Scorpion.
It has been discontinued. For years I've been looking for a replacement.

Mr. Gasket part number 9745.
http://www.autozone.com/fuel-system/...ly/106931_0_0/ Some parts stores have a couple universal filters hanging on the wall that may be a little cheaper too.

Re: ISO fuel filter with 5/16 flare fittings on both ends.
Thanks for the suggestion Matt. I am trying to stay away from rubber hose if possible. I think I am going to wuss out and get a filter with see through section and put flare adaptors on each end. If it looks too cheap that way I may go with one of the Pro Products ones from Jegs and use the same adaptors. I was just trying to avoid adaptors.
Thanks All

Re: ISO fuel filter with 5/16 flare fittings on both ends.
Posts #262 thru #267 in my Project thread relate my experience with going all hard lines on the fuel lines.
It took some time to design, fabricate, and install but it has been trouble free for two years and it is easy to service.

Re: ISO fuel filter with 5/16 flare fittings on both ends.
Big thing is that there has to be flex where the fuel line comes from frame to engine

Re: ISO fuel filter with 5/16 flare fittings on both ends.
i just went through this ordeal only with 3/8 line.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=648832 i ended up putting a barrel filter (linked above) in the flex line between the frame and pump. you need flex there anyway. its outa the way and still easy to get too from under the truck.
