New to the forum, with a new truck!

Hey guys, been snooping around the forums the last little while but this is my first post. Today I picked up a new 1972 Chevy C10 long bed, that used to belong to my grandfather who passed back in 2003. The truck was given to my uncle but had recently gotten out of the family. Long story short, it cost me $900. Needs a nice bit of work with the carb and wiring right now, body work and paint to come. Chassis is clean as can be. It doesn't have the original engine, but its supposed to be a 350 out of a 70's camaro (so I was told). It has 97xxx miles. Going to be a learning experience for sure, I am only 18, in university, and this is my first project on this scale. I'm sure I will be back with lots of questions! Here's the truck:

What a deal, family history and less than a grand for such a nice looking truck. Congratulations.

Welcome to the site. Great to hear that you have your Grandfather's truck to restore. Learning by doing is the best way to gain knowledge. You came to the right place. As you already know, there is a wealth of information posted, and an infinite amount more to access. Good luck with both your higher education and your project.
