rear end carrier question?

Is there a difference between a stock carrier in a stock 12 bolt in a 65 and one if the rear end has 4.10 gears?

Re: rear end carrier question?

A stock '63-'82 truck 12 bolt could have 4.10 gears. To more specifically answer your question, the 3.73 and lower gears use a 4 series carrier and the 3.42 and higher gears use a 3 series carrier. You can get aftermarket thick 3.73 and lower gears that will work on the 3 series carriers.

Re: rear end carrier question?

I have already bought the gears. So where can I get a series 4 carrier? Without spending a bunch of money

From any '63-'82 truck 12 bolt that has 3.73 or lower gears.
