where to find 454 serial #???

where do i find the serial # for my 454 bb?

i'm curious to know what year it is ... and i can't find anything stamped on the front of the block...

i do see a "1AA" stamping on the heads?

It will either be on the cyl block in front of the right cyl head OR there is a small machined pad just above the timing cover. If you want a casting number that would be in the left rear

The casting number of the engine is behind the driver side head on top of the block. The date of the block is right behind the distributed on top of the motor block. If there isn't any numbers on the front passenger head pad , these will usually be the only numbers to decipher from. Trevor
