1972 automatic Tilt column 200.00 shipped

Hey guys. I have a tilt column from my 72 c10 I no longer need. Its in good working order but needs the clear tab for the indicator replaced. It wss missing wheni got the truck. Shipping will probably be a little pricey so I will start at 200.00 shipped in the lower 48. Please be aware I wont try to mail it until after the holiday. Thanks.

Interested. Is it a true truck tilt? Can you post pics of the lower part of the column? Thanks

Yeah its a truck tilt. The base of the column has the same stamped locators on it that go against the clamp as the non tilt columns. You will have to wait until tomorrow for those pics.

I ship stuff all the time and theres no way that's going to cost $50 to ship. Lol. Anyway, since you didn't counter, Id offer $175 shipped paid via Paypal tonight and not have to wait for you to send pics.

You PM'd me, I see that your a fairly new member, you might want to brush up and read the forum rules on doing PM deals, especially when another member has already shown interest in a post. Typically everyone posts they will get in line if the person in front of them passes. Just a FYI and it's also common courtesy in general.

I pmed you in error. The forum rules say nothing about members waiting til the next day to get pics before interested parties can pm their interest and offers. In the real world its first come first served. I wasn't discourteous towards anyone.

Re: 1972 automatic Tilt column 200.00 shipped

Please keep all communications in the thread, and then use the PM function. It keeps things less confusing and keeps people informed and happy.

It appears that Black71Shorty was first to post interest at 5:02 PM on 12/21/14, and JohnnyC10 posted that a PM was sent at 5:48. Things continue to get a bit confusing from there on out, but I think a good review of the Buying and Selling Code of Conduct would be wise. Remember that PM sales are not allowed, buyers need to make initial contact of interested items in thread first, and if you don’t like the price, just move on.

I don’t think anyone was being rude or otherwise…just a bit of confusion is all.

Good luck on your sale.

Re: 1972 automatic Tilt column 200.00 shipped

Well guys, after pulling the front group off and getting a better look it looks like this is a van column. I should have looked more closely before listing it. It is still tight and works fine and is still for sale I just dont want someone to buy something that isn't what I said it is. Sorry for the confusion.

I'll take if you'll take a USPS money order (gonna sneak it by the significant other). Pm mailing address if it's acceptable to you

Re: 1972 automatic Tilt column 200.00 shipped

The price is still the same guys its still a nice tight tilt column and I can never find one at the wrecking yards these days. The next least expensive option is a chinese repop and I have two of those I wont even use because they dont work correctly for some reason and I dont have time to take them apart. Ol blue im doing the opposite and trying to scratch up a little extra money before christmas for my significant other because the shop has been slow. Any other time id be fine with the pmo. Sorry about that.

Re: 1972 automatic Tilt column 200.00 shipped

Seeing that it's a van column, has it already been modified (ie. shortened and nss relocated) for a c10? If so I'd still take it for $175 shipped.

Re: 1972 automatic Tilt column 200.00 shipped

You don't shorten the column... You collapse your existing lower steering shaft. If you move the column closer to the dash as many do, you don't need to relocate the nss, it clears the dash, just need to extend the wires a bit. Great price on an OEM GM tilt column!
