Repop door panels VS GM door panels
Hey guys , I have a couple questions about the plastic inner door panels on our 73-80 GM trucks.
What is the biggest difference in the panels ? Is the GM part # molded into the repops or ? Any help would much appreciated.

Re: Repop door panels VS GM door panels
I had to replace door panels on my 76 C10 and my 78 Silverado.
The only reference I could find was the LMC catalogue, which has different part numbers for different year groups. The panels are different sizes, but I don't have a clue if they will interchange outside the year groups. |

Re: Repop door panels VS GM door panels
Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure that 76 was the last year for the smaller door panel and in 77 they started the larger panel.
I just picked up what is suppose to be a set of original GM but, I want to be sure that's what they are before painting them to match my interior.

Re: Repop door panels VS GM door panels
I still have the panels off the 76 and have one off the 78.
I'll look at them and send you the numbers if there are any. Were the panels you got in an original GM parts box? |

Re: Repop door panels VS GM door panels
When I bought the panels the guy had a picture of the original GM boxes with the part numbers on them but when they were shipped they were not in those boxes. That's one of the reasons that I am questioning them.
The panels have a list of different part numbers embossed into them for the different colors. The numbers on the panels and boxes are passenger side 14014256 and drivers side is 14014255. The door panels are molded in blue color.

Re: Repop door panels VS GM door panels
Mine has the same chart on the back but underneath the numbers you have listed are these numbers.
14002914 MYSTIC 14002916 CAMEL 14002918 CARMINE Then in real big numbers under that list is these two numbers 14014256 BLUE 14014258 GREEN I do NOT see any GM markings like GM made or GM made in the USA. Is it possible that these may have been made later like in the early 80s as replacements to be died to your interior color or ?

Re: Repop door panels VS GM door panels
I highly doubt the aftermarket panels have the GM numbers embossed in them. That I would think be a copyright problem between the aftermarket and GM.

Re: Repop door panels VS GM door panels
That thought also crossed my mine as well. I was hoping someone would post up if their repops had those numbers embossed in them. I've read some post about poor quality and fit issues with the repops but, no physical differences in the panels.
