Best shaved firewall kit?
Who offers the best looking/fitting shaved firewall kit for an AC cab? Also, what gauge of sheet metal do you recommend to fill in random holes?

Re: Best shaved firewall kit?
What are you referring to when you say "AC"
I.E. what the cab came with from factory? Mark..

Re: Best shaved firewall kit?
Yes. I have a factory air conditioned 69 cab. I want to smooth the firewall as much as possible. I will be using a vintage air kit in the future, however I am planning on running a bulk head and hiding the lines under the passenger fender.

Re: Best shaved firewall kit?
Here is what I did on a 67 for a customer...
I started with a stock firewall and made my own filler panels as needed. some of it was 18gauge some was 16g

Re: Best shaved firewall kit?
Thank you for the pictures! That's exactly what I had in mind. I'd also like to smooth out the wiring gutter. I've seen a few pictures of this done, but I can't find them now. What are your thoughts on that? Any downsides?

Re: Best shaved firewall kit?
Thank you for the pictures guys. What gauge was the 1 1/4" flat bar that you used or recomend? These pictures are great by the way. Seems as though this topic comes up alot. It would be nice to have a thread just for shaved fire wall pictures. If there is one, it would be nice to be able to find it easier! You guys did a fantastic job on those trucks! Keep the pictures coming if it's not too much of a hassle!

Re: Best shaved firewall kit?
Thank you the pictures as well as the link! I didn't notice you smoothed out the hump above the trans tunnel until you mentioned it. I really like subtle changes like that! Also, is that kit you guys linked to az performance for an original ac truck cab? Thanks again!
