Re: removing undercoating..
I just stripped a pair of inner fenders. One I use a twisted wire wheel in a grinder, and the other I used a blow torch and a scraper/putty knife... the heat and putty knife wend the fastest and cleanest. I still went back in with the grinder to clean up the bits that were left after the scraper.
If you go with the grinder wear a dust mask and do it outside, and not in your garage. |

Re: removing undercoating..
I did what mr. handy said except i blasted when it was all off.
I first did the old azz under coating that was like a rock while doing floor repairs. once i had it off like a goof i sprayed new undercoating on my bare floors. big mistake!!! after 3 months some of it never dried. I had too remove all the undercoating i put on. some of the stuff that didnt dry just wiped off with gasoline. most needed heat and scrape. second time around i deciced too epoxy seam seal and then paint the floor...much better dont wanna do that again

Re: removing undercoating..
Simple, easy, cheap. Diesel fuel. Let it soak, putty knife it off.

Re: removing undercoating..
Well I learnt a new thing today! My vote goes to 'cheap heat gun' for the win. Haven't tried diesel yet, but the right amount of heat is very quick and clean. I'm just using an old power hacksaw blade as scraper. Works pretty good. Pics or it didn't happen!
