fuel line kit
hey y'all,
any of you have the Spectre fuel line kit installed on your edelbrock carb? or a higher end version of this? i have a metal fuel line coming from my mechanical fuel pump, attached to a small section of rubber fuel line, attached to the carb. the new kit replaces the rubber fuel line with a metal line, and also has a spot for an inline fuel pressure gauge. totally un necessary i know. just curious if any of you are running a fuel line kit like this?

Yes, I have the kit that you show on my 1405 600 cfm Edelbrock carb. I have a rubber hose from the pump to the carb. I also have a inline pressure gauge, as the Edelbrock carb needs to see 4-5 lbs fuel pressure. Mine had 10.5lbs, so I installed a regulator to get it down where it should be. Truck runs much better and gas mileage is better now.

The see through filters (that style of) that is in that photo are known to leak or break and are a serious fire hazard that have cost more than one guy his car or truck over the past few years. I had one of those Spectra plastic gauges on my 71 for a while and it started leaking out the gauge.
What you have there isn't the prettiest thing but it is fairly safe and reliable and you have far better places to invest the money in that truck right now.

I recently replaced that section of rubber hose because the old hose cracked and started leaking . Good thing I smelled it and fixed it quick.

Thanks for the tip. I wasn't going to use the filter, but I didn't know the gauge could also leak.
By the way, I took a closer look at the frame near the steering box. It is already reinforced very strong on the other side of the steering box . I am still having my mechanic evaluate the situation , but at least I'm not afraid that the frame is going to break
