Minimum Abrasive Blast Cabinet Size for 15"x8" Wheel?
What is the minimum media blast cabinet size for doing wheels for our trucks?
This Tractor Supply JobSmart blast cabinet is 44" (wide) by 21" (deep), but only 12" (high): http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/stor...y?cm_vc=-10005 Could a person blast the beads and face of a 15"x8" wheel with it laying nearly flat?

I have the larger Harbor Freight unit that works great for doing my wheels. The unit is not to bad the gun sucks on it and I replaced it very soon after buying it.

Yep that is the cabinet I have, I used silicon on all of the seams when i assembled out and it had not leaked. On the gun I can't remember which one I bought but if you search for replacement sand blasting gun you will find them.
I can look tonight and let you know which gun I bought. |

This is the gun I bought, it works AWESOME, the one from HF never worked right no matter what media I tried. It was just give of stutter out the media, this one out of the box worked perfect and is well for the money. I also added a cheap outdoor LED light to the inside to replace the one it came with, the LED is like 15w and is $13 on Amazon, I used the same on and off switch and just drilled a couple of holes and used the bracket that the LED comes with. How this helps. Its actually a really good setup now, I have done tons of stuff in there and it works great. |

When you blast wheels do you stand them up in the orientation they are on the car?

I do. If you lay them flat, the blast back is going to kill the viewing window in short order.
Always stand them upright and blast at an oblique angle so the media travels away from the window. Your wallet will thank you.
