1981-86 reproduction engine harnesses NEW!

If anybody is looking to replace their frayed, scabbed or missing engine harness, I have OEM style harnesses to make your electrical life a little easier.

These are complete from the bulkhead connector forward and come with all connectors needed to retain your HEI or electric choke. Harnesses can be built to your specifications a in most cases at no added costs like aftermarket distributors, non-Qjet electric choke, etc.

All wiring is j1128 spec'd and is rated for under hood use. All terminations are crimped AND soldered and where applicable include flame resistant loom. All stock replacement harnesses can be upgraded with options like HD 4ga charging system upgrade, serpentine swap or even fender mounted washer pump. Price for basic stock replacement engine harness is 139.99 plus shipping.

Re: 1981-86 reproduction engine harnesses NEW!

that is a good deal. Why is your electric window harness more money with way less connectors? Is it the parts? I mean 139.00 for a complete engine harness versus 159 for a window harness. Not bashing just trying to understand.

Re: 1981-86 reproduction engine harnesses NEW!

The window and lack harnesses both have obsolete connectors and far more wiring. And, the terminals for the window/lock switches aren't cheap either. There's also considerable more soldering required too.I also upgrade the window/lock harnesses for adrasion resistant wrap vs. OEM tape-backed foam.

Do you have these for 73-80 trucks?

Re: 1981-86 reproduction engine harnesses NEW!

I'm working on those now and should have them ready in a week or two. Color codes are slightly different as is the bulkhead and position of the firewall mounted common 12V junction block. But, soon I'll have them ready to go-along with 73-80 front lighting harnesses...and those will be available with relay upgrade and delay off if desired.

Re: 1981-86 reproduction engine harnesses NEW!

Question, will this work on a 87 model truck that's been swapped to a carb'd motor? My brother bought a 87 C10 that was originally a tbi/manual and now its a carb/th350, and none of the gauges work and I can't find the wiring that goes to them in the engine compartment.

Re: 1981-86 reproduction engine harnesses NEW!

The 87's have a different firewall bulkhead but if you need an 87 bulkhead wired for a carb setup I can provide you with one! PM me your info as I have several questions aboutbyour setup before I can quote you a price. Thanks!

Re: 1981-86 reproduction engine harnesses NEW!

Glad to see you're doing this! As the weather cools off I'm getting ready to get back on to my '78 retrofitted with a '95 TBI 454/4L80E and I'm going to need a custom engine harness.

Can you make a dual tank option harness? Since I'm going TBI I'd like to change mine in to an '87 setup.

I want to see you make money on it so you'll still be doing it when I need it.

Yep-no problem...just let me know when you're ready for a conversion engine harness. As for tank harnesses, I have single and dual tank harnesses available for the rocker type setup-and there are a few different options.

Re: 1981-86 reproduction engine harnesses NEW!

How does this compare to OEM, or painless wiring?
Does this go back to the fuel tanks too?
Thanks. Dollar saved is a dollar earned.

Re: 1981-86 reproduction engine harnesses NEW!

I'm not aware of anyone else offering factory style truck engine harnesses-I include the correct style of terminal for use with your stock 12V firewall junction which is actually the main feed for the AC relay. I include the correctly sized fusible links, correct washer motor/pump leads (and knowing some use 84-87 fenders on 81-83 trucks for example) where the pump mounts either in the housing or in the washer jug. I upgrade charging system leads where needed and supply the correct pigtails. I use 257F rated Delphi looming with the correct rosebud clips/breakouts and end clips where needed. And above all that every crimp is dip soldered.

However, knowing everyone may have different needs, its easier to custom build to suit your particular application since very few people have a 100% stock truck.

Will you ever make any for an '87 TBI?

Yes...I'm actually in the process of organizing and labelling my inventory of TBI specific parts to make them.....as well as designing new schematics for both the 350 and 454 TBI harnesses. I've been busy keeping up with orders and a lot of them lately have been custom harness builds so its always a time thing to get new harness designs out.

I have two 1987's with a 305 manual trans. that will probably need them.

Re: 1981-86 reproduction engine harnesses NEW!

Here is another custom engine harness kit going out tonight for Brandon! This is your 1990 crew cab harness for an old school carbed 454 sir! This harness is setup for HEI, aftermarket carb choke thru oil switch circuit, gauges, sealed fuse protection for external electric fuel pump via relay trigger, OEM wiper leads and all terminated in a correct 1987-up style C100 bulkhead!

If anybody needs a custom harness, drop me a line and see what options I can set you up with!!

Would be interested in a 6.2l diesel harness if you could make it for my 85 with charging upgrade.
