Nice truck with the right but recovered seats, think $7K is a bit much though, but you never know they are getting hard to find.

Looks just like my old girl. I'd say that's fair, mine was a little more and I didn't hesitate. In my mind if you want one of these trucks, pick them up now before prices go up even more.

Nice looking truck. Price maybe a little off but not bad for that kind of shape. I've seen worse shape trucks sel for more.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Too bad it's not blue...

That's really cool. 1967 short bed CST's are not a truck you find very often...

Re: original paint 67 swb cst on dallas cl

Not usually a swb fan but this one is tempting!! I even have a matching pass fender in nice shape. Probably a 327 given it has a th400. Too bad about the hacked doors. Seems like a decent deal, especiallly if the cab supports are good.

I was looking at the pics again and for as clean as the outside of the truck is... those door bottoms look to have a lot of rust, comparatively... odd...

$7,000 is the flipper price...fresh on the trailer. Since about any one of these you find will be flipper priced it's not a bad deal. Hey, at least it's not $15k,right? Hmmm...that's cheap!

Re: original paint 67 swb cst on dallas cl

Okay, I am lost. How much value does the original paint add if you have to fix and respray the door bottoms and the rest of the paint is shot? I see the value if either the paint was in good to decent condition and/or the truck had some minor surface rust but in the shape the truck is in...., I am clueless.

Please don't taze me

Re: original paint 67 swb cst on dallas cl

I may be wrong but I thought a 283 and 327 had nothing going to the valve covers, the covers where solid with the Chevrolet script and also the oil filler was up front on top of the manifold, the distributor is changed too. I recall some time back one like that but in beautiful all original shape with something like 25,000 miles on it going for 25-26 grand. Anyone know if it sold .

I think the real value of original paint, even rusted original paint is that you have a much better idea of what you're getting. Fresh paint can hide a lot of shoddy work.

Josh,
With the growing popularity of the original paint trucks out there... that truck could be cleaned up, paint buffed/cleaned and shined again and it could bring good money to the right person. Remember they only have original paint once. I don't think the flipper crowd would respray anything on this one.
It takes a lot of work to do the paint but its worth it in the end.
Especially if they threw a full PB suspension under it.

Re: original paint 67 swb cst on dallas cl

I was browsing Minneapolis craigslist today and saw an ad with a truck in Houston, TX that looked familiar, sure enough this is it. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/r...060318986.html

I wonder if they did much for suspension/chassis or engine work. I do see disc brakes. Their ad is not good since it has no description of the truck. $17,000

Re: original paint 67 swb cst on dallas cl

I had a 67 that was amazingly rust free except for the bottom of the doors. No idea how that happens. The ad is gone for me so I cant see all the pics.

From the pics posted and everyone saying its a good price at 7K I think the market for our trucks is catching up to the rest of the old car market ... sad. What the heck are the young kids of today going to purchase if they want to get into the old car/truck hobby?

Notice the date on the 1st post- it was back in november, so thats why the ad is gone. My post today is an update on the new ad for the same truck.

Re: original paint 67 swb cst on dallas cl

What are kids today doing since out trucks are getting out of reach? They are building squares and 88-98 trucks. Same thing happened to the Camaro crowd when the first gen when ballistic they started building second and third gen cars to make up for not being able to afford the first gen ones. Makes me wish I hadn't sold my hugger orange 69 for so cheap. the guy that has bought it has turned down three times what he gave me for it. I hate not having money and having to sell one to pay for another. Jim

Re: original paint 67 swb cst on dallas cl

i tell you what i've been wanting a short fleet 67/68 for close to 15 years but paying off student loans then raising a family came first, i'm 34 and finally at the point my family is taken care of and i have a few bucks saved up but i can't find one worth keeping long term. they are all either pieced together, or cut down, or rusted out, or priced well over $10k straight off the farm. i just want something mostly umnolested. just in the last couple years it seems like they have all vanished and i'm starting to wonder if i missed my chance.

I like that truck and I like the patina but patina clear coated I dislike. If it's shiny it better be a solid paint job
