Air fittings and loctite 545

I will be using loctite 545 for my air fittings. Do I need to use anything else?

No.
Just make sure all the connections are clean and dry before applying the 545.
They also recommend a 24 hour cure time for best results.

And on the rubber lines use a line cutter so the cuts are straight.

Can using too much cause an issue? I had several leaks and the only thing I could figure was that I used too much loctite and maybe it didn't cure properly.

I used it and let it cure and it didn't leak one bit.

I also used it (with tape) to plumb my air compressor set up and it worked wonderfully.

I like to clean all my fittings. Tighten them once. Completely unscrew them and clean them again. Then I put the sealant on. Put the sealant on the hose, the fitting, compression tube, and top fitting.

I assembled all of my fittings and waited weeks before applying air while I finished the rest of my setup so I figured it was cured.

I've only ever used Teflon and haven't had any problems.

You are leaking at the pipe threads?
Or at the tube connection of the PTC fitting?
Did you buy DOT approved fittings?
Or is this at a combination of NPT fittings?

Can youi post pics of be specific where the leaks are?

Leaking at the pipe threads. I think I only found one leak at a ptc fitting and that was my fault. All of my leaks were located at the tank. Brass npt fittings and an aluminum tank. I assume that te tank is tapped for npt threads, so all of my leaks were at npt to npt connections.

I've heard of issues with home depot brass fittings cracking.

You should only be using DOT approved fittings.
