1957 chevy 6400 questions ?

Just bought a 57 6400 gonna be putting it on a newer 3/4 ton 4x4 frame down the road , I want to get rid of the big fenders and put smaller ones on it I seen the upper and lower grill parts are diff and grill is diff and figure I will have to change all that but is everything else the same like the hood is it the same as say a 3100 ? Any thing else I would have to change to put the smaller fenders on it ? Thanks for any help or steer me toward a link please

Tried to send you a message said your private message box was full , do you have some info on what I'm wanting to do is my 57 6400 hood the same as all 57 chevy truck hoods ? Is the big fender and upper and lower surrounds all that is diff to do the swap ? Thanks for any help

Sorry- emptied a few spots this morning!

Yes, the hood is the same, and you should be able to put 3100 fenders on by using the 6400 inner fenders (the frames are different).

My understanding is that the whole front clip is different, not just the fenders. I do not know if the radiator support is the same as the small trucks, but if you get a full clip it should come with the rad support since everything bolts to it. I would try and find a parts truck with good clip so you can get all the little bits and pieces that go with it.

Hood is the same, the rest of the front clip is different. I used a 6400 cab as a doner, and used the hood, sold the front clip and used 3100 front clip.

Thanks a lot guys I think I'm gonna drive it home tomorrow I'll post some pics of it when I get it home so I can make some friends on this side of the site cause I know I'll have a ton of questions when i start working on it
