71 GMC Build

Hello All, New to the board here and there are some great builds going on. I am starting a build on a 71 GMC that is a one owner thats my dad purchased new. It has never had anything but a motor rebuild done. I started the full build on Jan 1, 2015. My question is this. I want to convert to a coil spring chassis from leaf so I can lower it to about a 4/6. How much work is it to change over the existing chassis or would I be money ahead to purchase a coil spring chassis ? Thanks for the advise and as the build goes i will post pictures and updates.
