Re: help with identifying and estimated vaule and rareity

Full restore not that it needs much i mean no rust nothing bad i have litterly piles of papers every oil change tire rotation and mile the truck was ever drove im only 22 so funds are tight but i have allready fitted a 750 holley carb and new air filter and doing headers and got a 2 1/2 in h pipe exhaust sytem to put on it would love to go to the giant single back tire insted of dualies and put a good coat of paint and such but EVERYTHING works on truck so besides be upgrading wire harnesses and maybe lights irs good to go i love these year trucks

Re: help with identifying and estimated vaule and rareity

Looks like someone cut the camper off of it and made a flatbed out of it. Camper trucks are almost always in good shape since they are not driven a lot.

Re: help with identifying and estimated vaule and rareity

Hi,I have a 1971 C30.
I got it 19 years ago with 87,000 miles on it.

It has only 123,000 on it now and the bed is wood and 6 inches longer then a stock bed, that is what makes it a longhorn model.
I will post some pictures later.

Re: help with identifying and estimated vaule and rareity

Sure looks just like the frame under the camper I just removed from my 68 1 ton dually. I have never seen "ANY" flat bed that boxed up and over the rear except the campers. I just pulled a camper off my 68 dually and it looked exactly like the flatbed on yours. Is it close to rubbing on the top of the tires?

If it has a regular bed on it then yes the Longhorn bed was 6" longer and you could only get them in a wood bed.

If it came as a cab & chassis then the Longhorn and the 133" wheelbase cab & chassis just shared the same wheelbase.

Re: help with identifying and estimated vaule and rareity

That's a cool truck! It very well could have a camper frame on it if it was ordered as a cab and chassis. As a matter of fact it could have anything on it the original owner wanted. I don't think it matters if it is a camper frame or not, fact is its a cool flatbed now! Good luck with the restoration!

It's just one example of several hundred thousand that were built so It's not rare, but the equipment on it is not seen that often. It's a 'driver' in the condition it's in so as to value...just average.

I agree with this.First it's a cool truck now. Second I don't think the factory even made a "camper frame" it's just the cab n chassis. Anyone could order one just like your trucks owner did. Then put any kind of bed, box, body on it they wanted. I think we have a tendency to call em "Camper Frame" just cause that was probably the most prevalent buyer/user for these so that's what we see. Whoever first put a bed/body on your truck evidently wanted it as low as possible which explains the boxed pop ups over your tires.
anyhow, cool truck.
