Question HELP:why is my speedo cable leaking transfercase fluid!!!!!!

on my 67 k10 i have a 205 transfercase in it, and it is leaking the fluid out of the speedocable where it looks to be a grease fitting? is there a seal that is bad or what can i do to have this not happen thanks

Mine does it too...There is a O-ring around a bullet looking do hickey(I dunno what it is really called) that slides into the tranny. I need to replace mine also. Just disconnect thed speedo cable , remove the bolt & tab next to it and the bullet thing will slide out and you'll see it.

If the fluid is in the cable housing, it's the internal seal around the speedo gear. Also check the speedo gear shaft for wear.

Transmission fluid can leak into the transfer case which raises the level and causes more fluid to run out. It might be worth while checking the fluid in the transfer case by removing the UPPER
plug and letting any excess drain off, (if any).

thats how ive been checking the fluid level, its just down because its leaking threw the cable but thanks anyways.. when it gets light out im gonna take a check on the cable and wear on it.
