Key off drain
I have a 84 k10 with a stock 350 4x4 everything is stock except for an aftermarket stereo.. I did that test light test where you disconnect the negative side of the battery. I unpluged the sterio, did a fuse by fuse check and the test light would still stay on. I just replaced the alternator with a new NAPA Brand alternator and still no results.. Does anyone have any ideas? suggestions? Oh and I did check the grounds they are all good..

Re: Key off drain
I had a similar issue on my old Suburban. I pulled all the tape off the main wiring loom and found a short in my headlight circuit... This was on a '66 'burb with a 292, so you'll need to adjust your explorations accordingly.
That said, if it's a key-off drain, best bet is to start with stuff that works with the key off. Best of luck. Wiring is a pain sometimes. |

Re: Key off drain
I unplugged the power wire that runs from the starter to the alternator and the test light turned off, what does that mean?
