Engine/firewall wiring
Hey all, I'm looking to see how everyone ran their engine wiring on the firewall, I'm using an American Autowire kit and I'd like to run it so it's not very visible. I'm curious if most people run the wiring down from the bulkhead or straight over or........ Any pics would be sweet!

Okay.
The portion of the wiring that goes through the black plastic sheath in the track at the top of the firewall: For me, it only carried the starter and dizzy wiring. I sent it back into the cab thru an existing hole in the firewall right next to the fuseblock.... and then out thru grommets closer to their "points of use" lower in the firewall. On the inside, I had extended them and run them along the inside of the firewall... and then down to their respective points of exit from the interior. On the part of the harness that usually comes from the fuse block plug goes to the alt and over the radiator to the fuseable link, etc.: I tucked that (except for the temp gauge sensor wire) in the space made by the meeting of the inner fender and the fender on the driver's side. Exiting right at the washer res., I dropped off the alt wire, (one wire alt), horn and, if I remember correctly, the driver side headlight and turn signal , also on that harness. The rest I passed (in the plastic sheath) along the inside bottom of the rad support and then under the battery tray and up to the fuseable link, making sure that they would always be out of the way of any corrosive juice that might slosh there if a wet battery was ever used. Nice thing about all that is that they probably won't show in pics. At least, that was the idea. Not a bucks up customization. But easy, clean, and free!!!!
