Seats: what are you using?
I'm getting close to being able to put floors in my panel truck. Figured it would be good to know what seats I am going to use before I get to that point. My panel truck came with only one front seat. I was told the original owner ordered it that way. I would like to use two factory seats but I'm most likely going to add a back seat as well. I'm having a hard time finding single seats. So what are you all using for seats?

Re: Seats: what are you using?
My other thought which I doubt I can pull off is that I have been looking for a full set of Honda Element seats. I know they are too new and won't look right but they can be set to where they lay completely flat like a bed/cot. I think it would be super cool to be able to use my panel truck to go camping or a place to crash at car shows. The biggest issue is that the rear seats bolt onto the sides so I would have to make some kind of rollbar or something strong to support it. I was thinking maybe I could talk my mom into recovering them with a 60's style pattern if I got them. Here's a pic.

Re: Seats: what are you using?
the Toyota fj Cruiser has seats that fold down like that also and may not have the fit issues...

For what its worth, I have a tenth gen. ('97-'03) F-150 60/40 split bench in my '62 Panel and its comfortable, cheap (~$50 for a mint one), and fits like it was made for the truck. It even clears the floor shifter and transfer case shifter.

Re: Seats: what are you using?
Sure, here are a few different angles. Clearance from the door on either side is about 3 inches at the closest point. Picture of the shifter shows distance from the seat when in reverse. Oh, and sorry the pics got turned.

Re: Seats: what are you using?
Thanks, and yes the outer front mounts are at a 45 degree angle but they "suck up" to the floor just fine although I think a simple "L" bracket could be made if you wanted to. I decide not to because the floor is basically gone as you can see from the plywood floor patches. The seat didn't come with belts unfortunately but I'm looking to install some eventually.

Re: Seats: what are you using?
I can't vouch for one of these seats fitting in a pickup but if so, I would recommend it.

Re: Seats: what are you using?
Here is what came in my truck. I set it in the panel today and sat on it. It actually fit really well. Might just need to find another one.

Re: Seats: what are you using?
I might have time to look this afternoon. I haven't looked at the truck in quite some time.

Re: Seats: what are you using?
Interesting. So you're saying that my 63 panel had a 60-61 seat in it according to the back

Re: Seats: what are you using?
Found someone parting out a Honda Element with a black interior. He said he would take $150 for all 4 seats. Can't really beat that price. I thought I found some at a local junk yard, they told me they had the complete set but when I got there they only had the rear seats. I took some measurements and it looks like they are going to be a little narrow inside the panel truck but I'm ok with that. I even like how they fold up on the sides so they will out of the way if I am not using them.
