I'm hoping that the truck will have a low stance and will end up something like this

Looks like you're off to a good start. Nice to see another local build.

Re: Tejano 52

Hi Blanco

What are the plans for the truck?? Are you keeping the original 6 cylinder and the 3 speed transmission?

I am loving the looks of the original finish on your truck.

Is Tejano the name you have given the truck?

Re: Tejano 52

if anyone has ever used one of these black cross members please let me know where do you both get on I'm not a hundred percent sure and I've done some measurements I don't want to make any cuts or make any hold until I'm 100 percent sure

I have used one of those crossmembers before and would like to help, but I don't understand your question.

Re: Tejano 52

I just really have questions on where to bolt the crossmember at. How did you install yours, did you measure from the front of the frame or from the firewall forward?

Re: Tejano 52

It doesn't really matter where you measure from. I bolted the crossmember to an empty engine block and trans case, then moved it back and forth till they were where I wanted them. You will probably have to trim the ends off the crossmember, and move your steering box.

Re: Tejano 52

No, don't have any pictures, that was a long time ago. It will be pretty obvious what you have to do if you can test fit the engine.

Re: Tejano 52

Yep, when you position the engine and transmission in place (in the up and down plus fore and aft planes) you will see where that crossmember needs to go. Looks like it will need trimming to fit the frame.
Good luck and have fun.

Re: Tejano 52

Beautifully freshly painted engine and new cross member, are you gonna clean up the frame and paint? No time like the present, "While you're in there"!
