Question Checking Interest- Full 1970 3 spd Set-up

I'm going to be pulling the three-on-the-tree Saginaw from Blu and replacing it with a floor-shift 6-spd tremec.

Anybody have any interest in the full set-up (less pedals) for their own swap? Transmission (just went through by local transmission shop - checked out great, new seals/gaskets installed), flywheel, new napa clutch set, z-bar and linkages, steering column....

If we arranged it right, the buyer could even drive the truck prior to removal to make sure they are happy with the operation of the tranny and other parts.

Not sure what the entire setup would be worth- thinking $500 as a starting point.

Any interest? I need the tranny to get the truck back to the body shop in the next couple weeks but could pull it any time after that.

Would you be interested in selling the 3 speed column separately?

If I had to part everything out, yeah. But if there isn't a buyer for the entire assembly, it won't be for a while. Several months at least. This tremec swap is costing me a fortune.

Re: Checking Interest- Full 1970 3 spd Set-up

Anybody? I'm definitely open to offers and would rather make a deal with someone here than deal with the craigslist ordeal. This is an opportunity to try the transmission out on the road before you lay out any cash!

Hi NCjohn I'm interested in the same swap, could you give me a ball park of the cost to do this? Do you need to modify the drive shaft? Thanks, Rick

Bringing it back: Full 1970 3 spd Set-up

Last call on this one before I pull it out of the truck. I'm pulling the three-on-the-tree Saginaw from Blu and replacing it with a floor-shift 6-spd tremec.

Anybody have any interest in the full set-up (less pedals) for their own swap? Transmission (just went through by local transmission shop - checked out great, new seals/gaskets installed), bellhousing, flywheel, new napa clutch set, z-bar and linkages,

If we arranged it right, the buyer could even drive the truck prior to removal to make sure they are happy with the operation of the tranny and other parts.

Looking for $500 or best offer.

It is the original transmission for the truck. It does allow a clean shift back down into first from second while still in motion if that's what you mean (no doubleclutching required!)

Still no payment received so its still up for grabs. More pics attached. Can include steering column as well now for $550 for everything. This IS a fully synchronized transmission and is completely ready to go.

TTT. I'm picking up my finished tremec this week. Somebody needs this. Can ship on a pallet through Fastenal if you have a store close by. Anybody closer can try before you buy.

I'll call the store here tomorrow and see. They are supposed to be cheaper than anybody else. I don't know what everything will weigh but a standard pallet at 200lbs ought to be more than enough to cover it.

$175 to ship to NM by Fastenal. She said it could take up to two weeks in transit but they can track real time. The number I called was 336-888-3036 for the quote.

For anybody else interested in a shipping quote it would come from 28144. I said one standard pallet @ 200 lbs (ought to be more than enough to cover it).

Re: Checking Interest- Full 1970 3 spd Set-up

Thank you for the shipping quote. It's a little much so gonna have to pass unless you want to practically give it away. I'd be all over it if I was near you. I have a Saginaw for my project but I got it off craigslist from a guy whom I'm pretty sure used it at the 1/2 me track. Yours is so clean. Good luck with the sale.

Understood and thanks. I could probably part out all the parts and do well but don't want the hassle of multiple sales. As long as I don't have to put it on that cesspool Craigslist has become! Selling there now is an ordeal with all the damn Nigerian scammers.

I got my tremec off of craigslist. I paid $1200 which was fair but am putting over $2K into it in the build and upgrades. I'm into new transmission money at this point. Doh!

Fastenal said $150 based on one standard pallet at 200#. Not sure what actual weight would be, probably less.

Don't be scared to make an offer. This stuff will be coming out of the truck this weekend.
