E rated tires

I have e rated tires on NY K20.

Book recommends 65 psi, but I am running 45 psi right now.

It doesn't seem t affect mileage. So that s it bad for the tires if I don't load the truck up? Going for a bit less jarring of a ride, and it seems to of worked.

You'll be fine. Increase the pressure if you're carrying heavier loads.

I think my sidewalls call for 80psi max, I run around 45 unloaded. Still doesn't ride smooth but it's less bad.

That is all I am hoping for. At 65psi it bounces to much. 45 is more contolable. Especially on the streets of lebanon we have here in socal.

I've had this conversation with others before. I had some LR E tires on my half ton, I would run them at 35 PSI when not loaded. I was told I couldn't do that, they aren't rated, etc... by so called, "experts."

So I showed them this.

Anyhow, most LR E tires can be safely run at 35 PSI without any ill effects. Trust me, your back and kidneys will thank you.

I don't know what kind of tire you have, but I'm sure the manufacturer has a similar inflation table.

I run about 40 psi front and rear, unloaded in my 64 1/2 ton pickup. Bump the rears up to 60 or so when I'm putting 1500lbs of gravel in the bed.
Tires are 235/85r16. I like this size a lot because its similar to the old 7.50-16 size.
