Mecum 1972 Burb Sold
Just watched this Burb sell for 21,500 at the Mecum Auction. To me it seems like a good deal for both buyer and seller.

Re: Mecum 1972 Burb Sold
It was a very clean burb for sure in near factory condition with front & rear air.
The other one with the Army theme wasn't nearly as nice. It has buckets seats & big wheels, but that's about it. There's obvious paint runs and just nothing that makes it a quality build. I'm sure it must leak because it smelled inside. It sold for 7.25k. The bidding was hilarious because the auctioneer tapped the mic & said, "Hello. Is this thing on?" after no one was bidding. |

Looks like this one is for sale on AutoTrader Classic in Sarasota for $39,988. Nice profit if it sells for that.

Re: Mecum 1972 Burb Sold
Seems quite reasonable. Try to build one for that price. Not much profit for the work.

Re: Mecum 1972 Burb Sold
I was referring to the price it was purchased for ($21,500) and what the new owner is trying to turn it around for ($39,988). I agree a renovation can burn through some serious cash.

Re: Mecum 1972 Burb Sold
That seems to be common. Out in Phoenix each year we see cars go through Russo and Steele or Barrett Jackson and try to re sell them . There was a gold 1970 C10 long bed which sold for $34,100 and they tried the next year to top that and it brought around $13,000 . Ouch
