Too far from me also, and in truth I have no need whatsoever for such a beast. But it is definitely very cool!!

Re: 10,000 Actual Mile Truck for less than $5000

Did the C50's have the '67-'68 steering wheel still, and have a slant hood? I don't know much about the C50's but I would figure those would have a been changed to match the smaller trucks?
Looks great though.

Nice! But why would you have to overhaul a 10k mile engine? Looks like the master cylinder needed an overhaul, though

Re: 10,000 Actual Mile Truck for less than $5000

69SCSS- Haven't seen a bunch of the "big" trucks but the ones I have seen had the 67/68 style steering wheel. The thing I'm not sure about is if the truck would have had a 350. The ones I've seen either had a 250/292 6cyl or a 366 "tall block" V8. For those in the know, was a small block 350 available in a 70 C-50?

They put the 350 in anything after '69, so it's possible it was ordered. A quick look at the SPID would clear that one up.

Nice truck but the ad was written by someone who can't read, and its not very desirable since its a utility vehicle. Small pool of buyers == price too high.

4 wheel drums, yes. But it does have power brakes, its called hydravac. That M/C runs fluid down to the booster on the side of the frame. They stop very well.

Interesting truck and not too far from me.

Would make a great Rollback.

May still have the PTO on the Trans.

The ad looks fine to me and it's very reasonably priced in my opinion.

Try to price a brand new equivalent to it...

And I would rather have the older model to boot.

I really like it! And cheap too! Some super singles and shorten the frame a bit. Throw a bed on it with a 572 Big block! Much harder to steal than my pickup too. You can always throw some bags on it to soften the ride too. Pull haul and tow anything anywhere. Talk about a Stump Puller...

Re: 10,000 Actual Mile Truck for less than $5000

That would be the perfect haul vehicle for us pickup guys...ramp truck, rollback, shortened w/5th wheel trailer hauler, wrecker body.

I believe its original miles and the price is right, for sure. The sheetmetal never changed, other than adding side markers to fenders. The fender badges changed the same as light trucks. The steering wheels are larger than a 67/68 10-30 but smaller than 69-72s. The style stayed the same. My buddy had a N.O.S. olive colored wheel that stumped people for years.

A lot of the C50/5500's had 350's from '69 to '89. Usually lighter GVW's with hydraulic brakes. The 350's they used were heavy duty 4 bolt blocks with roller timing chains, low compression, small valve heads. Usually a Rochester 2G (manual choke) with a governor. Looks like some one put headers and a 4bbl. on this one. Couldn't hurt!

Looks like a nice truck for the money.

How did it get a small window cab? Were the big trucks all small window?

In a larger truck, the Big Back Glass was an Option.

And I sure wish C-10 thru 30's were like that.

Re: 10,000 Actual Mile Truck for less than $5000

IF I were looking for that type truck, I would totally disregard any info that comes with it and just judge the truck on its own merits as it is today. In reality, thats all that matters.

Fire truck, Low Mileage, rebuilt, restored, yadda yadda yadda or whatever is all just noise playing in the background that taints my judgement looking at the truck

It looks super clean and would be nice for a dump or rollback or whatever and should be a good buy just looking at the pics

Great deal! Original seat, original floor mat and clean steering wheel all in excellent condition spell 10k. Finding a retired fire truck that was originally painted white is also more of a plus ( the whole world will not readily know its past)

Great truck for the price. We had one identical except no 2 speed rear. 350 v-8, Hydro vac brakes. Steering wheel is correct as is the small back window. We used it to haul tile and stone. Had no problems stopping with the brakes.
