Re: 67 with leaf spring

Most Chevy's were coil and most GMC leaf, but the other setup was optional on both.

My '69 short step is a factory leaf truck and there are plenty more out there.

Hopefully it's a factory leaf truck and not somebody's home job...

Re: 67 with leaf spring

Mike C beat me too it.

I haven't personally seen any trucks that were converted from coils to leafs but anything is possible. Since rear leaf springs were a factory option for Chevy's, my guess would be that the truck originally came with the leafs and he thinks it must have been converted since some people think that all 2wd's came with rear coils/trailing arms. Does he known for sure it was converted?

Re: 67 with leaf spring

Look to see if shackle mounts are bolted on or rivited. Bolt on means its been converted most likely

Rear leaf springs on a Chevy 2WD (C10-C20) was a SPECIAL order option in '67. Check the SPID decal in glove box, it will be documented there, if the factory installed them.
