Building a 77 GMC K25

Haaaaaa..... Winter hobby.

Suggestions on paint color or scheme? I'm doing it without the plow, the plow company graphics, and the gas can and tire in the bed instead of mounted to the tailgate. For the purists out there, I aim to please so I won't be painting the turn signals as they are NOT amber on the actual truck from 77. I'm planning to give it some rust in some of the more popular locations on these because shiny show trucks are boring......

Marina Blue, with a white cab roof. Just like my '78 was.

I built that same kit, I did not use the plow and made it a long bed, tried to match my truck as close as I could.

TexasJeff - I clicked the link to your model build eager to see what it looked like, but unfortunately the photo links are dead. Nothing visible.

Not bad honestly, I'd have painted it more of a bronze though. I did something like this with my 89 Caddy, wound a kit that looked like it and made a little clone......

Re: Building a 77 GMC K25

Been working on the model in my spare time and figured I'd update with some pics. Going for high precision here so I'm taking my time. Here's as far as I am currently. If you look at the last pic, the engine seems to have a rather large oil leak. Not sure where to start looking for that one...... :/

More of the painted and detailed engine. Prolly going to paint on some oil leaks starting from the rockers, and cakes down at the bottom.

In my case it helps to be busy. I only have a few hours at night to work on it so I put some Top Gear on the TV, sip some bourbon, and go to work little by little. Getting so detailed with the little parts soothes my ADHD. Lol.
