bell housing

do any of you know if a big truck bell housing will bolt into a c/10?

I have a sbc in a 60 series bus and it has a brand new clutch/flywheel/pressure plate, just wondering if the whole unit might bolt in and clear the c/10 firewall and high hump.

the bell housing has an access cover on the top that bolts on, and looks to use the same style lower mount on the cross member.

I think it is a bigger flywheel, like a 12/13 inch? so it might not fit in a regular truck bell housing.

what trans are you going to put behind it Jon? what is the spline count and size in the disc
thought also that there was adaptor plate(spacer) for the b/h to eng????????

I have a 5 speed that was in my gmc 4000

The stuff is still all in the bus, I don't think there is an adaptor (or I didn't notice it), and I hadn't thought of the spline count ...hmmm
I will have to get a pic of it.

I know in 72 C60 with 366 had 13" clutch ,a bigger bell housing with an adapter plate to standard chevy pattern.... same cross member mounting i believe

then if you sre using the bigger 5 speed you should be ok. you will more than likely have to use that b/housing any way to bolt the trans up. can' remember whether it is a 1 3/8 or a 1 1/2 input but it will be like this one I imagine. this was the 5 spd o/d which I had behind my detroit with a 13" clutch
those other pieces were the frt motor mount with those wings going up inside the frame. the steering box mounted thru it and the frame was still cracked. the other piece was the rear eng mount and c/member

the trans is a np540 od
took a look at the bell housing in the bus, and there is an adapter plate between the bell housing and motor.
also looked at the engine and trans in my 65.. looks like there is room around the top, maybe on the sides behind the valve covers it might be close...
