Re: using a vacume pump as an airbag compressor
A vacuum sucks a compressor blows,I doubt you could change it over to work.I would sell it and use the money to buy a compressor,Some of our vendors on here have good deals.

Re: using a vacume pump as an airbag compressor
The pump you have is a diaphragm type pump and they do a good job at making vacuum but not pressure. You will need to get a pump designed for making pressure.

Re: using a vacume pump as an airbag compressor
Simple answer is no. One sucks, the other blows...

Re: using a vacume pump as an airbag compressor
Thanks for all the answers. Please don't get mad at me for asking another one. I was just wondering because the pump has both a intake tube and an exit tube. Is there any way to test and see if it produces enough pump pressure?

Re: using a vacume pump as an airbag compressor
Not any way it will make much pressure. The one we have at work will make 12 or thirteen at the most and then don't have the power to push the diaphragm up. Found that out when I hooked one up backwards. No where close to the 150 needed for an air ride system.

Re: using a vacume pump as an airbag compressor
I have a pump at work capable of doing 26 in. Hg of vacuum and. 100 psi of pressure depending on how I plumb it. It was also $600, so I think I would rather have my $150 444c

Re: using a vacume pump as an airbag compressor
Is that a DC pump? or is she plugged into the wall?

Re: using a vacume pump as an airbag compressor
Figured it had to be. The DC stuff we have for vacuum does not have near the power to do that. Ac is another story.

Re: using a vacume pump as an airbag compressor
you want to have something that can fill your tank between 150-200 psi. And not take 20 minutes to do it
