Question 305 or 350 mate up to I6 tranny?

Quick question, will a 305 or 350 mate up to a 4sp manual tranny from an I6?

Yes. But Chevy guys call it an L6. "I-6" is F*rd or T*yota jargon.

picky picky picky....

hey some of us like'm as long as they are old and american....

don't care what you call it as long as it's acurate......

for instance don't call a I6 a slant 6.......or a I6 a L6 unless its a Lhead engine (oooops did I say that......)

here I go again stiring up the pot.......

Oh yea I6 isn't ford or toyota jargon as long as the engine is a Inline 6

However the term "Flathead" is uniquely Ford, as they are the only ones to have made them......

Hey Orange...don't be so quick to jump on or try to correct new memebers...we all just want to "talk truck" here........he will get the hang of it......and so will you.

no that is a L head.....ford's "flathead" was different.......just because someone choose to call it a flathead doesn't make it one......

But just proves my point, call it what it is, don't clump by maker.......

OK, my bad. No excuse for senseless cyber-brutality. I just remember the grumpy parts guy at the Chevy dealer, one hot afternoon many years ago, [when you could still get '68 parts over the counter at the dealer's] correcting me about it. Maybe I called it a slant six, I don't remember. GM even calls inline 6s "I-6" now. But I prefer the period correct, classic "L6." I guess it stands for inLine.
