bagging a 66' c10 ?s
Hello I'm new to this forum and just got a 1966 c10 . I want to bag it, just got a few questions and would like any suggestions. For the rear will I need to relocate my shocks? I'll be running 2600s with a small c notch. and for the front I'll be using the bag plates and possibly 2600s or 2500s.

I got the same questions for my 61 apache 10. Addition to this thread can you guys post up pictures of c10s that are bagged with a c notch but not with an excessive frame work.

Re: bagging a 66' c10 ?s
Jesse, Instead of relocating, I think you can just get shorter shocks if your going with a small C notch, You guys will both just want to remove the coil springs and place the bags there, You can use lowering blocks to fine tune your height after that.
Good luck and post pics. Have a good week

Re: bagging a 66' c10 ?s
Spend some time in the suspension section. Lots of good threads on bagging these trucks. On the back relocating the shocks and going to s shorter shock is needed. What happens is the angle of the shock gets to steep and the shock looses a lot of its dampening ability. For what you want to do look into the porterbuilt stage 1 front and stage 2 rear setup. Very good setup and good vendors here to get you going.

Re: bagging a 66' c10 ?s
Sorry but it's not just replacing your springs with bags. You would need plates on cross member, fabbed cups to snug in the lower control arm, and shock relocators. Dropped spindles with discs for those extra inches.
The back would need shock relocation, C-notch, and an adjustable panhard bar is a must. I did mine with Porterbuilt Stage 1 and 2. These kits come with the proper bolt on needs and can't go wrong. AZProPerformance has all you need. Travis there is very helpful and guide you. I know sometimes prices may put a setback at times, but think about it, it's your suspension. You wanna spend 200 bucks, you get that $200 ride, $1000 equals $1000 ride. I wouldn't even think about piecing a kit together, you'll really spend some $. Good luck and feel free to PM me for any questions.

Re: bagging a 66' c10 ?s
Agreed. I found that running front shock relocators improved the ride 100% too. I would also recomend the 2600s for the front. Borris aka way2lo2 has a complete kit for your truck with manual valves, vauges, tank, comp and all the goodies for $1000. Grab some spindles, 2" blocks with ubolts and you will be good to go. Takes 2 days to install. He has an install thread that will help wrap your head around the process.

This thread is yet another example of why this site rocks. People leave their egos at the door an offer answers to peoples questions. We all started somewhere with our knowledge and abilities and its nice to see people helping other people along in their journey.
