Does anyone know if there is someone who rebuilds dash parts like instrument panels.

Re: dash parts

There are a few places that repair and rewire stock gauges, and there are a few places that sell rebuilt/refurbished ones, and then there are many places that sell re-pops.

truckandcarshop.com sell the individual gauges you can install into your stock cluster. Classic Instruments has created a whole new cluster, with a tach, and updated gauges keeping the classic look.

I opted to replace my gauge cluster with 12v AutoMeter gauges - it was cheaper and gave me the functions I wanted at a more reasonable price - though I still have a few extra gauges under my dash, I was not going for a stock restoration so authenticism didn't matter to me.

Re: dash parts

what dash part do you need rebuilt? do the gauges work?
most truck parts vendors sell new bezels, gauges, light sockets and general cluster parts
read my build on how i converted the amp gauge to a volt gauge
i also refurbished my cluster by disassembling, painting, polishing and a new bezel

the new speedos vendors sell are junk, i went thru 3 of them before having a stock one recalibrated
find member tbone on this forum, he does gauge repair; i had him calibrate my speedo
i have not installed it yet

Re: dash parts

Ogre - speedos are highly overrated, I drove my truck for 20 years without one. Go with the flow. I cleaned up mine, when I reinstalled it turned out the temp gauge decided to go bad sitting 15 years in a box. I installed an aftermarket one to match the trans temp gauge I bought, just not ambitious enough to pull out the cluster again. If you do have it out wire it with a connector, makes it much easier to install.

hes a board member and done some very nice work for me. Rebuilt a 1950 gauge set and converted the amp gauge to a volt meter like on the late 60's trucks
