1970 Old Yeller
Hello there 67-72 fans! I'm excited to join the forum as a new member.
My rig is a 3rd generation one family owner. My grandfather bought it new in 1970 and used it through his retirement towing his camper trailer and going fishing and bouncing through the Wyoming desert. I have many memories of riding in the back with siblings and cousins headed to our favorite fishing spots. He passed it on to my dad in the 90s and it has continued to be used. A couple years ago, my dad asked me for $1 and I gave him one. He handed me the keys and title to this truck I have loved since I was a kid. Its a 1970 GMC 4x4 V-8 1/2 ton short bed fleetside. If I've done this right, following should be a couple pictures... |

Re: 1970 Old Yeller
I've loved this truck for years, and over time I've only seen a few like it. I was searching the site and came across production numbers at...
http://outintheshop.com/prodnum.html and http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=104816 Near as I can tell, Chevrolet made 2554 of these, but no one seems to be showing numbers for GMC production. Are there GMC production numbers available? Am I right or at least headed in the right direction? I've seen posts that GMC production was only a percentage of Chevrolet for these trucks. Thanks for your input, I have lots to learn about the finer details of this one. Last edited by 1970 Old Yeller; 02-02-2015 at 12:51 AM. Reason: Hit Post too soon... |
