First time builder
Well my question is I want to swap out the front torsion bar suspension from my 1962 Chevy C10 for a suspension from a 1963 C10 is this possible and or is there a better Maori cost affective way to do this. I also have the whole 63 should I just swap the frame and all and put the 62 body on a 63 frame. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you are going through the work of swapping, why not swap to an 80s front cross member with disc brakes

unless you are going to put bags on it or lower it a hole lot I would keep the torsion bar front end.

First off thanks everyone for the advise. Well I wanted to use the torsion bars but the truck was slammed to the ground when i got it and was missing the piece at the end of the bars to adjust them and i really don't know how or if it even cab be fixed. I don't think i'm gonna bag it. Dose anyone have any suggestions on putting the 62 body on a 63 frame

If you are missing those keys, go down to Turner's auto wrecking off of Old 99 south of Fresno...I think they have a 60 to 62 body down there that probably still has the Torsion bar keys on them...
They even give you a ride to the back of the yard... Tom

do you have the pink slip for the 63? The reason I ask is that on these trucks, the VIN is on the frame. So if you swap bodies, when you go to register, the VIN will no longer match. Here in CA that can be an issue. I have a 60 1 ton panel however someone in the past swapped frames with a 60 1/2 ton PU. Now luckily for me the PO went to the trouble of getting it inspected via the arbiter and I am all ready to go but from what I understand it was a bit of a hassle to get done. Not hard, just a bother. Assuming of course that you do have the pink and there are no hang ups with the VIN. Just so your prepared.

Yup got both pink slips.. ok so Turners and get a set of torsion bar keys and i'm good to go. I read somewhere that a special tool was needed if they are spun out .
