how do you remove these?

I have a TCI IFS and I'm trying to replace the upper control arm bushings with polyeurethane bushings. Has anyone else removed these? I would prefer to not start hammering on one side in hopes of pushing out the bushing. Was hoping someone had a DIY tip so I won't have to take it to a shop to have them replaced. Thanks

Re: how do you remove these?

On my Hotchkis A arms I used a small punch against the inner side of the bushing and tapped it out. It worked well with no destroyed parts.

That's not an OE 63-72 a-arm so sockets don't come into play to remove the bushings. Those bushings appear to be pressed in so they would need to be driven out. Most likely you'd need to drive 1 side out, slide the shaft out that end & then drive the opposite side out.

I would verify what bushing TCI recommends before taking anything apart.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
