Fleetside upper molding clip selection?

Hey guys! My 72 swb fleetside has had an upper bedside molding clip that's kinda "wonky" ever since I bought the truck. I'll wash the truck and the molding will pop off the clip at the front and I have to fiddle with it to get it back on... til the next time it pops loose again. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the clip is broken and needs replaced... and since the rest of the clips on that piece of molding were installed in 1972... I'm not gonna put a lot of faith in being able to reuse them.

So... I'd like to buy some clips so when I remove this molding I can replace all of them if they break or are already broken. Seems like there's a "stick-on" type replacement clip available as well as an original style clip. Opinions about which one will work better? Better yet, personal experience with either type? And the big question... which supplier has good quality/service?

Thanks!

Re: Fleetside upper molding clip selection?

Use original clips, way better than the "stick on" type. Your trim will sit flush against the truck using clips as opposed to the adhesive style. If your truck is a 72 it probably has the stick on clips so you would have to drill holes for trim clips. I did on my 72, and only used about half the recommended amount of clips, IMO the factory over killed it with the amount of clips originally used.
