1997 Single Cab SWB Z71 Daily Driver Beater
I picked up this little 97 Z71 a couple weeks ago and thought I would start a thread about it. It's got 156k original miles on the 5.7 vortec 350 & pretty decent paint n body with a few chips and blemishes. The interior is ok but the carpet will need replaced at some point. I've cleaned it up and waxed it, replaced the windshield and had the windows tinted since I've had it. The front diff wouldn't engage so I put a 4wd actuator in it and it's good now. It's got 2" blocks in the rear and has been cracked in the front, rides rough. I'm thinking about coming down to a 1" block and letting the bars down a bit in the front to see if it'll level out and ride a little smoother. I like the wheels and tires for now, they are 285's. Ultimately if I keep it I may go back to a more stock look with factory 18" 2007-13 Z71 wheels and lose the stainless rocker covers etc.
Here's how it looks now, opinions and comments are welcome. Thx

Re: 1997 Single Cab SWB Z71 Daily Driver Beater
that's a sharp pickup. i agree on the 1" block and cranking the front down. i, however, like the wheels it has on it.
definitely ditch the chrome rocker trim.
