Hidden Winch

Hey guys, I've been searching but came up with pretty much nothing! I was looking to mount my winch behind the stock bumper. I have seen pictures, but I have not seen how anyone has actually done it. I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me how it's done.

Thanks,

Nick

Re: Hidden Winch

Sorry, I don't have any pics. I've mounted a ramsey 10k winch behind the bumper on a 79 k30 4x4 dually. You'll need to clearance the frame horns, sides and lower grill panel.. I didn't have to remove more than a 1/2 inch from any one place. Ron

Re: Hidden Winch

You make a bracket to hold it like this http://www.fourwheeler.com/vehicle-r...-army-truck-3/

Re: Hidden Winch

Thanks guys, I guess I was making more out of it than I needed to. So looking at that article, I guess I can use a winch mounting plate between the frame rails.

I appreciate all the help!

Re: Hidden Winch

Or buy this http://diy4x.com/cart/index.php?rout...product_id=183 and mount your bumper around it.

Re: Hidden Winch

The hickey sidewinder is nice if you find the full size one not the mini for the jeeps. But being its age its probably gonna take a rebuild to work if you can find the parts to do it.
