I can't be the only one with this problem
As I've posted on here before, I've got my 64 c20 daily driver rust bucket, then am going to pick up my newly acquired K20 this weekend. Here is my dilemma that in sure I am not the only one who has run into. I found a 65 shortbed semi-barn find I suppose. Bed is pretty straight with minimal rust over the wheel wells, but I went to look at it right away because over the phone he said it had zero rust and that the rust was only in fenders. So I cruised over there and, of course, drivers side needs inner and outter rockers, floor needs small patches by the kick panel but it spreads up to the firewall a bit. Same on both sides except the passenger side rocker appears very clean. And needs two rear cab supports. Hasn't ran in years judging by the old fuel smell. I offered him 1500. And says there's a guy who offered two thousand over the phone but my guess is he doesn't know about the rust. Do I up the offer? Or wait? Here's the link, always wanted a 65 shorty since my grandad had one. Sorry for the length of this

Hate when things like that happen, but then again, it's directed toward someone else, so I could live knowing your in misery. lol
Flash the cash , if he can physically see it , it will be to you benefit. Don't forget the extra $500 saved can buy a lot of patch panels. Still think you'll prefer the K20 anyways, regret giving my K10 away.

Yeah, $1500 sounds fair. You aren't low balling either.

Re: I can't be the only one with this problem
I'd get it running if I got it and cruise it. Out of all the ones I've owned I actually drive one now and fell in love with it. If I need to get rid of it I feel I could get my money back

jeeze you can see how bad the front floor would be rusted in the first picture by the condition of the fender.
I say stand on your offer. chances are he will tell the next guy he has a two thousand dollar offer too.

Re: I can't be the only one with this problem
Decided to pass on it, he called me and said that the other guy didn't come through so it was up for grabs. I went and pulled it out and really looked at it. Forewall had rust in it as well as the drip rails which I couldn't see in the dark shed. I'll hold out for another or put money into my k20 I picked up today. Thanks for the help!

Re: I can't be the only one with this problem
Likely there never was a $2,000 offer/guy. Oldest ploy in the game, suggesting some other guy is on his way over with the money, but he's an hour late, etc. I fell for that once back when I was young and naïve.

You went back after he lied? Your a better man than me. Take your time, there are some real jewels out there but it takes a lot of time. I searched for a few years before I purchased my 65 shorty with big back window. Rust is tough expensive and time consuming and it has a tendency to make us say bad words! Good luck be patient!
