1952 GMC rear swap HELP??

Truck isn't in front of me will a 68 OLDS 12 bolt fit under my truck for a swap? Hemmings says 52 is 59/60" and the olds is 58.5/59" any help would be great it is a posi with 2.78 gears good for my town and freeway cruises? I'm new and have a lot of questions.

Hawkerdriver...Welcome! The width should be ok. Was the Olds rear on leaf springs? You will probably need to get some axle pads for the leaf springs.

It was a coil setup but figured that was easily remedied new perches and I'm going new springs also. The 5.3 has been purchased 4l60e in place ifs kit ordered. Here we go! I will try to get pics going and start a build thread. Thanks for the help. It's the right price and didn't want to pass on it.

Cool. A build thread would be interesting and your power train package is one of my favorites.
I've used coil spring rears and cut off what isn't needed.

I have heard that rear end from a 98 ford explorer fits perfect and original comes with 3.55 or 3.73 in them.
