Dad got his dream truck

So yesterday my dad and I drove down to Georgia to meet up with a fellow board member Jemel. He had a 71 cheyenne super that we were looking at and ended up putting a deal together and driving it home. It's a mostly original 71 cheyenne super big block short bed truck. The truck needs some work but it's all there and hasn't been tampered with too much. The plan is to get the motor running on all 8, fix the exhaust, put the full wheel covers back on, and drive it for a while. It will eventually get a full resto but we wanna enjoy for a while first.

That's my dream truck. Love the light red (Orange imo). Has all the important options and a 396.
Is it the original engine? Can you post up some more pics? Interior and such.
Wish your dad the best of luck with the truck.
If he changes his mind and sells her. Let me know.

Nice project, how much of that nasty four letter word R*U*S*T does it have? Good luck, keep the pics coming, very sought after setup......

It wasn't advertised anywhere I just got ahold of Jemel and started talking about the truck and he decided he wanted to let it go.

I will get some more pictures fairly soon. The motor is original as well as everything else

That's the kicker on this thing. It needs a decent amount of rust repair. The main problem areas besides rockers and cab corners are the roof skin and drip rails. Strangely enough the rockers and cab corners aren't that bad but the roof needs some work. We have a donor cab that has a good roof skin on it so we will be using gm sheet metal to repair everything
