oil pan removal

hi ya'll i have a light oil leak looks like from the rear main,now my ? is do i need to lift engine up a bit to remove pan it looks pretty close to the crossmember,my engine is a 6cyl 292 on my 63 c10,thx for your help.

Yes. You will have to raise it quite a bit. Remove the flywheel cover also,.

I did this last summer on my 250. Take the motor mount bolts out and jack the motor up far enough to put a 2X4 between the engine block and the top of the motor mount. After that as said earlier the flywheel cover.

Also the shroud & watch that the fan blade does not get into the rad.

I tried the stop leak and it may be already sealed after only 60 miles of driving. IMO that stuff works as advertised.

Nope you won't have to take the drive shaft off. Take the two engine block mounts off and stuff a 2x4 under them...or something thicker if you can. It'll be a tad tedious to get the pan off cause of the lip in the pan. You'll see when you get the pan off, but with some patience it'll come off.
