Roadster Shop 69 REVO Patina build

Here is a 69 SWB build that we have been working on to debut a new bolt on REVO suspension line as well as be the R&D vehicle and general shop truck. We started with an incredibly nice truck, originally out of Georgia. Great patina and insanely solid! The only issue that we have found is a small dime sized rust spot in the back of the cab that is covered by the bed.

The plan is to keep the exterior and interior basically as is. We will upgrade the suspension with our new bolt-in REVO IFS crossmember and 4-bar rear. It will get a pretty healthy, injected SBC and 4L60 trans. Nothing too fancy, just a reliable, comfortable truck with a great stance that can be driven anywhere.

Re: Roadster Shop 69 REVO Patina build

Thanks for all of the support!

After a little design work, we were able to come up with the finished product...

Once the stock front crossmember is removed the new REVO crossmember will bolt directly in using existing frame rail holes. A few additional mounting holes are required to be drilled in the frame rails. If you are not familiar with the Roadster Shop REVO IFS, check out this link and read up on the "Overview" and "Standard Features" sections on this page. http://roadstershop.com/suspension/1967-72-c-10-revo/

(the green sections represent the stock frame rails)

On the rear, we designed all of the brackets to again bolt to the frame using existing holes. A few additional holes are required to be drilled in the rear rails as well. In order to get the rear of the truck sitting low, a C-notch needs to be cut into the rear rails above the axle. We provide a template to trace and cut out. The new rear bracket extends forward and back of the c-notch for added support. It also has a boxed in section the fits into the c-notch to again add strength. The coilovers are mounted outboard of the rails and set vertical to optimize the motion ratio. You can run a 10" wide wheel in the stock wheel tubs with this set up. If you want to slightly mini-tub the bed, an 11" wheel will fit with a 305 tire.

We have a few other pieces in the works for a center crossmember, exhaust ports, steering mounts, etc...

How is the alignment adjusted in this configuration?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

The lower control arms have eccentrics to adjust camber and caster at the bushing end.

The link has a good diagram of the eccentric action.

Correct. There are eccentrics on the lower control arm that will move the suspension through the full range of alignment. This eliminates the need to take off and thread/un-thread rod ends to do an alignment. With this set up, you can get +1.45 to -2.78 degrees of camber and +3 to +6 degrees of caster.

Here is a clip to illustrate the range of motion.
