How brown should tranny fluid be with 50,000 miles on a rebuild?

Just curious on this because I just ripped out a 97 tranny from underneath a 97 unit the other day. Fluid seems a little brown but not sure what that really means. I am told they will turn orange-brownish after a while but not sure on the usage scale for color. I might just go and have the unit flushed and have a new TC put on it with fresh fluid to go....thoughts here? I sent a pm to clinebarger. But if anyone else wants to chime in....please do
