Original rear bumper?

I found a rear bumper for sale and I am leaving to go look at it in an hour.

Anyway to make sure it's original and not a reproduction made in China? Except for the made in China stamp, lol.

Re: Original rear bumper?

If it's heavy and rusty, probably ours. But seriously, if you can post a pic realtime via phone, someone might be able to tell you on the spot. No way to know without a pic - or, as you point out, if there's an obvious stamping on the bumper somewhere.

Re: Original rear bumper?

The way the square notches at the bottom of the bumper are cut is different on a GM vs Aftermarket.

Would you happen to have any example pics to illustrate? I'd like to learn the difference.

Re: Original rear bumper?

Sorry Mods, got in a hurry and posted twice. Can you merge or delete?

By the way, 45 minute drive and it was wrinkled on bottom edge, and bolt eyes were stretched. No thanks, and drove away.
