Is this good enough for light welding duties ? Like bumpers,rocker panels,ETC. ???

Flux-core welders are ok if you don't mind doing alot of grinding. Mig welders are the only way to go when it comes to body work. I use a Lincoln SP-125. It's a standard 115 volt also.

You can weld sheet metal with a flux core welder......but it takes some patience! I have welded the sheet with an AC stick welder(that took a little practice!) Also like Randy said, you will do a lot more grinding. I run an sp100 Lincoln for the tin, but on the heavy stuff, it doesnt have enough "juice". i still use the old Lincoln stick welder for any bumper or chassis brackets. Good luck, crazyL

It's not much more for a mig welder.Local welding supply shops have small bottles of gas that are reasonable.The gas will last quite awhile doing sheet metal.Just remember to turn it off.

Yep. Flux core does a sloppy job and you get weld BB's bouncing all over the place. They hurt when they go inside your shoe!

And weld BB's feel like red hot bolders in when they are your shoe(freakin OUCH!) with my mig, i weld in my work shoes(sandals).......they dont call me crazy for nothing!
