Speed Sensor

I bought a 1993 GMC 1500 extra cab 2 wheel drive. The man I bought it from had changed the gears in the rear end. He went from a 308 to a 373 and the speedo is way out so how do I fix that. Is it the speed sensor that I need to change or something else?
Thanks

Re: Speed Sensor

You need to recalibrate the DRAC.

The DRAC (Digital ratio adapter controller) is also referred to as the “vehicle speed sensor buffer”.

The DRAC conditions the alternating currant signal from the vehicle speed sensor to a square wave signal so it can be used by the vehicle electronics.

The DRAC also compensates for axle and tire size variations so the speed signal is accurate.

Welcome to the board!
