new to the forum

Hi there
I'm new to the site and thought I'd throw my hat in the ring. I bought my 1956 stepside in 1972 and I am the second owner, drove it until 1977 and then let it sit. I have been working on it over the last 20 years off and on (mostly off). It is almost ready to hit the street again, IFS mustang ll front, TCI leaf rear, rebuilt SBC 400, new TCI street fighter turbo 350, re wired, new American wheels. This forum has given me a lot of ideas, a lot of info to research and I am glad to have found it.
Mark

Welcome Mike! Truck looks great!

Stock bumper mounted upside down would be cool!

Re: new to the forum

the amount of tribal knowledge is incredible, I can research so much with all the different threads. if I need a picture I can find it here. I just figured that I'm missing my front radiator mounts, they disappeared from my frame when I welded my front cross member 20 years ago. didn't seem important then, but now it does. anyway thanks for the support

Re: new to the forum

I found old photos of different stages of my truck. I purchased it in 1972 from the original owner off the family farm. I had a job cleaning construction sites and saved up the 200 dollars to buy it, it had only 36k miles with a 265V8, hydramatic, big window, California built and never left the state. I drove it hard and put it away wet, so to speak in 1980. I parked it and left it alone until 1992, I then dropped in a mustang ll front end and a rebuilt SBC 400 never starting it, again I parked it. I turned back to it 2014 hoping to finish it, this time I have it up and running, registered and now driving it on the streets after a meer 35 years . It isn't pretty on the outside but everything is new under. SBC 400, turbo 350, Camaro rear, chevy disks and tube A arms up front with dropped spindles, TCI new leaf rear suspension, loker shifter, all new brake lines, and new transmission cooling lines.

That's just not right. You bought it and KEPT it. You make a lot of us look like dummies, and most of us wish we had kept most of our classic's.

Nice looking truck, love the big back windows. Can't believe you got rid of that beautiful green paint and chrome rear bumper...
