Can anyone tell me what model year seats will "bolt in" to a '72 regular cab? I saw one the other day that looked like an early 90's bench seat with fold down arm rest and head rests and I am thinking that would suit me fine.

Any help appreciated.

You may have to poke a couple holes in the floor, and use some washers for shims, but it'll fit.
However, if you are a little short for your weight...you may not want to do it. I know the 60/40 split bench sits a little high in these trucks. and there isn't much room for big thighs.

Thanks for the info on seats and for the kind comments. Would you believe that I bought this from a little old man in Arkansas who had owned it since new and it is 95% bone stock? I am just wanting to clean it up and make it mine. It's my daily driver.

In regards to the seat, I am 6'3" and 230lbs so I need all the room I can get. The factory seat pushes me forward into the monsterous steering wheel and when I put both feet on the pedals, my knees are in my chest. Thinking about moving the fuel tank a la blazer, swapping bench seats and installing a tilt wheel to gain some room.

I don't know Joesjunk but I will have to look him up. I am still very new to all of this and have MUCH to learn.

I have the 98 silverado 60/40 in my truck . As Andy said the seat is a bit higher and does put you closer to the wheel at your hight removing the tank would be a must do.
I would install one of these late model wheels firstto give yourself some more room.

That seat looks awesome and comfy. I think the one I saw must have been out of a late 80's or very early 90's pickup. It actually felt like I had more room with it...but he had a diff wheel installed too. However, before I install a smaller wheel, I probably need to install power steering and when I do that I want to install a tilt wheel and a small block too.

Always something isn't it? I guess what I really need is a starting point.

I just put this one in my 67. I have plenty of room with the tilt and a different wheel. I am a 6 footer around 200 lbs. Tank has also been removed. I think this is a late 80's or early 90's seat.

Bill72BB I see you got the most important item . The drink holder. I got three on the floor and armstrong steering and no place for a coffee 'cept balanced on the ash tray . How's your's mounted Magnetic?

Bill.....that is the same style of seat that my son has in his '96 GMC SLE Sportside, but his is red. So, that is what I want for my truck. Questions: Did you remove the gas tank? Also, did you hook up power to the lumbar pumps?

As for drink holders: A friend has a street rod and custom shop, and they have some machined billet aluminum holders that stow beneath the dash. Really slick stuff, but kinda pricey. Still, they're nice.

I have a bench out of an 89 std cab in my 72. I used the two outboard factory mount holes in the front and had to drill two holes about 6 inches fwd of the back outboard mount holes.
