Seems a bit steep for something like this. I like what hes done with the tailgate but i know i wouldn't pay that much.... must be why he has no bids!

Poor guy is probably like me...I have $16K in mine, and it's not worth that much...all parts. The only labor is the exhaust and seat.

I did meet a guy out garage saleing that had a absolute beautiful '67 SWB his garage. He said he wouldnt take less than 17k for it.

i put this auction on my watch list on e-bay just to see how much it goes for....yeah,i think it's a 10k truck too.dude is trying to get out of it what he's got in it most likely.....can't blame him, but the market for that truck ain't no 15k..much less the startin' bid....nice truck though....looks just like mine!!

The way I look at it, if you go to the local Chevy dealer and want to buy a New truck, you will pay twice that amount for a truck that will last about 100k miles and be worth maybe $5k in 10 years. Then you look at this beauty and say, hmmmm $15k. Yes, a bit pricey but, it will always be worth it as long as you dont let your wife or kid drive it. Just my 4.7 cents worth..

I also forgot to point out that anyone that does a full frame off is going to have at least $15,000-$25,000 tied up in one and most likely numerous years if they only do a good job, an all out balls to the wall eat off the frame rodsteration can easily run well over $25,000.00-$35,000.00 invested. So these trucks are on the money on price. You can find the same occasionally for $7000-$10,000 but they are becoming alot rarer to find.

If he did a frame off resto. He ran out of money. Look at the engine. For 15K, engine should look better than it does. Also forgot to hook hose up to radiator overflow. No AC.
Still its a nice truck, but not 15K. Looks better than my truck.

What you guys are saying is true. If a shop does a true frame up restoration, even with a clean low mileage truck it will "cost" 15-20k in parts and labor.

No I am telling you the facts.

Go get a OEM quality paint job priced out. I don't mean Maaco either. I am talking about a paint job where everything is taken off the truck, all the glass and rubber is removed, and every part is painted inside and out like the factory did it. Any idea what it will cost ???? Hang on to your hats boys. You will spend 6-8k on a PAINT JOB!

Keep in mind that if quality materials are used, about 30% of that is material costs. Good paint ain't cheap. If you want a color in the red family, it will cost a bit more.

Now start pricing new rubber, and glass, and chrome and trim, and...well you know the rest. All that adds up quick, and unless this 30-33 year old truck has been kept in bubble, it will need all of this.....

bigfredtn is right, the engine looks like crap. Those trucks that GMCPaul posted look like they're worth every penny of the asking price. I really like that first one!

For 15k, I would expect:
*A NICE carbbed engine, or a well-done swapped-in fuel-injection
*Overdrive
*Coated headers
*Air
*A better seat
*At the least some better tires
*Better stain on the wood bed (needs a nice deep one)
*More custom than those lame dress-up bits - those look like the chrome dressup parts from Autozone or JC Whitney, as do the tailgate and the bedrails
*At the least a nicer looking seat

I would say $10k, maybe.

Gotta love the rattle can restored insturment bezel....nothing wrong with that on a driver, but for $15k they should have spend $25 and bought a new one.....
